FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
If this doesn't answer your question please just send us a message or call. We will get back in no time.
Prague is one of the safest cities in the world – even Prague’s ‘worst’ areas are very safe compared to most of the rest of the world. It’s safe even at night.
Usually the worst thing that might befall you here is an encounter with a pickpocket or a taxi driver who will overcharge you.
Should anything happen our Funky Tours staff is available throughout the weekend to assist. On top of that the reception at the hostel is staffed with English-speakers 24 hours a day.
We want to keep the price as low as possible. In the age of Flixbus, RegioJet and co it’s cheaper if each person books their own bus or train ticket than if we chartered a bus. Trains and flights are also good option. Depending on what you prefer we can either arrange transport to Prague for you or you can take care of it yourself.
We recommend Omio.com (formerly GoEuro.com) to compare and book bus and train tickets.
We are more than happy to help you find the cheapest tickets! Just contact us via the contact form.
Yes, that’s fine, if you’d like to stay in a girls’ room just please contact us in advance.
Usually we can organize that at a surcharge. Please just contact us and we will see what we can do. Prices vary depending on the hostel and the time of the year.
- Most importantly bring valid travel documents (see next question).
- Make sure to bring appropriate clothes for the weather
- Pocket money for meals, drinks, souvenirs, etc. The currency in the Czech Republic is the Czech Crown. You can either bring Euros and then change them at an exchange office, or take a bank card and take out money at an ATM. We will be there with advice on how to get Czech Crowns without being ripped off.
Please be aware that you are required to carry valid travel documents as mentioned below. Travellers failing to meet this requirement may be stopped at the border or even be denied boarding a bus. In this case we cannot refund your ticket.
- EU Nationals: VALID PASSPORT or ID CARD.
- Other Nationalities: VALID PASSPORT and RESIDENCE/ STAY PERMITS (Some nationalities are exempted from requiring a visa in Schengen region)
VISA requirements differ on a case to case basis. If you are unsure about anything please send us an email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
We will try our best to put you in the same rooms. If you book together we will automatically assume you are friends, if you book separately, please send us a message that you would like to stay together.
You can arrive any time on the first day of the trip and leave and time on the last day of the trip. Even if you take an overnight bus and arrive only in the morning of the next day – that’s fine with us. If you arrive before check-in time or leave after check-out time you can just store your luggage at the hostel.
Please bring your booking confirmation / ticket. You don’t need to print it, it’s fine if you can show it to us on your phone or tablet.
The hostel is just a few stops by public transport from both the main train station (Praha hl. n.) and the bus station (Praha Florenc). We will send you directions ahead of the trip and you may contact us any time before or during the trip if you have questions or get lost.
Public transport tickets in Prague are only about 1 EUR / ride.
Booking, Conditions, Cancellations
Funky Tours trips are for everyone between the ages of 18 & 40 with valid travel documents. Exceptions to this rule are possible if you contact us in advance.
The sooner you book the better because we might sell out and bus and train fares tend to get more expensive the longer you wait. Otherwise there’s no restriction until when you can book.
Depending on the date of cancellation and the refund option chosen, you will get a certain percentage of money back (up to 100%).
If you cancel at least 7 days before the trip we will refund 100% of the cost.
If you cancel between 24 hours and 7 days before the trip we will refund 60% of the cost.
If you cancel within 24 hours we will refund 20% of the cost.
We ask for your valid contact information, such as phone number and email, so that we can reach you before and during the trip. However, we comply with data protection regulations, so your personal information is safe with us.
